We built MonkeyTactics to be private by design. Most data never leaves your device. This page explains exactly what we do — and don't — collect.

1. Who We Are
MonkeyTactics (monkeytactics.com) is a free online tool and calculator site. References to "we", "us", or "our" throughout this policy refer to MonkeyTactics and its operator.

2. Calculator & Tool Data
Most calculations and tool operations on MonkeyTactics run entirely within your browser using client-side JavaScript. Except for the limited network features described below:
- Numbers, financial figures, health metrics, uploaded files, images, and other ordinary tool inputs are not transmitted to MonkeyTactics.
- Results are computed locally on your device and displayed instantly.
- Entered values are not saved as user records or associated with an account.
Password breach checks
When you choose Check for breach on the Password Generator, your browser creates a SHA-1 fingerprint of the password locally. Only the first five characters of that fingerprint are sent to the Pwned Passwords range API. The password and complete fingerprint are never sent. The API returns a large anonymous group of possible matches, and the exact comparison happens on your device.
The anonymous range reply is stored in your browser's IndexedDB cache for up to 24 hours so repeated checks do not make another API request. The cache keeps no more than 100 recently used range replies. It does not store the entered password, complete password hash, or selected matching record, and your browser may clear the cache according to its own storage rules.
QR Code Decoder web-link resolution
QR images, screenshots, clipboard images, and camera frames are decoded locally and are not uploaded. If the decoded content is an HTTP or HTTPS web link, the complete decoded link is sent to the MonkeyTactics privacy proxy only to resolve its final destination for your review. The proxy follows the link's redirect chain using header-only requests and returns the final URL; it does not automatically open or navigate your browser to the decoded destination. Other decoded QR content is not sent to the proxy.
Crossword Solver definition lookups
Crossword patterns, filters, and matching run locally in your browser. If you click a matching word to view its definition, your browser sends only that selected word to the Datamuse API. The pattern, filters, and complete result list are not included in that request.
Datamuse states that its servers keep a temporary log of API queries and discard that log at the end of the day after the request. Datamuse retains only long-term aggregate request counts grouped by broad request category. Definition lookups are optional and occur only after you select a result.
3. Cloudflare CDN & Security
Our site is served through Cloudflare, which may collect technical information such as IP addresses, device details, and security-related data to provide performance optimization and protection against malicious traffic. This data is processed by Cloudflare according to its own Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies
MonkeyTactics itself does not set any first-party cookies for tracking, personalisation, or advertising purposes.
Third-party services embedded on the site (such as Google AdSense, described below) may set their own cookies in accordance with their own privacy policies. You can control or disable these through your browser's cookie settings.
5. Advertising
MonkeyTactics displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to support the cost of running the site and keeping all tools free.
Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings, or by using the NAI opt-out tool.

6. Third-Party Links
Some pages on MonkeyTactics may contain links to external websites for reference or context. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
7. Children's Privacy
MonkeyTactics is a general-purpose tool site and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please contact us so we can address it.
8. Your Rights
Because MonkeyTactics does not collect personally identifiable information, there is generally no personal data for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on your behalf. However, depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California).
